Starting this Saturday June 25th, and continuing every Saturday through October 10th (excluding Comber Fair), a farmer’s market will be held at the Comber Fair Grounds from 8am to 2pm. Come for fresh local produce, home made crafts, garden accents, and a yard sale area.
New vendors are welcome.
Set up time is 7am.

Festival Epicure

Golf, Wine & Dine League

- Each night play 9 holes with a shotgun start (every group begins at the same time on different holes) at 6:00 pm at the Oxley Beach Golf Course. Afterwards, enjoy a tasting/tour and supper at a local winery.
Bluesfest

Mastronardi Estate Winery wants you to “really honour your father this Sunday” with a celebration BBQ in the vineyard. Chef Aaron Moom from “Over the Moon Catering” will be serving ribs paired with Mastronardi wine for only $12 per guest. Live entertainment is included and you can enjoy Sangria or wine by the glass.

Rino’s Kitchen (131 Elliott Street at Pelissier) has new hours starting today. The cafe located inside of “The House” will open 7 days a week from 11am to 11pm and is now a licenced establishment. Lunch (made from scratch using local ingredients where possible) will be served and then snacks will be available all evening. Sleeman and Okanagan now on tap and a lovely patio to enjoy a pint on!

It’s opening day at the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market this Saturday, June 11 from 8am to 1pm. Along with 25 vendors (more than 1/2 are farmers!), there will be live music starting at 9am, the Academie Ste Cecile Glee Club will perform at 10am and 11am, and there is a free draw for some great gift certificates.

The Amherstburg Farmer’s Market is held each Saturday from 8:30am to 1:30pm at the little white church at the end of Howard Avenue (7860 County Road 20). The Riverside Market is held each Sunday from 8am to 3pm at Riverside Sportsmen Club (10835 Riverside Drive East).

The Chatham Kent Farm Safety Association & Progressive Agriculture are hosting the 20th annual Farm Safety Day for Kids. It will be held on Wednesday, July 20th from 9:00 am – 1:30 pm at University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus, Ridgetown. This event is geared to children aged 6 – 12. Registration is $5.00 which includes lunch, tee shirt and an educational day.
Pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is July 13th. Registration forms are available at the Chatham-Kent Libraries, Municipal Service Centres or by calling the Kent Federation of Agriculture at 519-674-1500 ext 63595.
