The Kent Federation of Agriculture is working with OMAFRA to offer an “On-Farm Food Safety Workshop”

It will be held on Tuesday, June 19th @ Ridgetown Campus, University of Guelph, Ridgetown.  It will be a full day course and the cost is $45 which includes lunch.
The course is geared to producers who grow and process food items.  The purpose of the course is to help reduce the risk of food contamination and assist with food safety and traceability program.  Space is limited.

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday April 14th at the LCBO Roundhouse Store

Grown Right Here and Tourism WindsorEssex Pelee Island are hosting a ‘Discover Our Community’ Event.

This event is featuring 5 local wineries, Viewpointe, Sprucewood Shores, Mastronardi, Colio, Pelee Island. There will be wine samples and food pairing (food will be prepared by Viewpointe Winery’s Executive Chef David Courtney).

Local wineries will also be doing wine tastings at various LCBO locations from Windsor to London during the month of April (more details to follow soon).

The Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is looking for volunteers for the 2012 season. You’ll be working with great people and it’s a good way to fill community hours if you need them for school. Most of the duties include set up or tear down, and community interaction on special event days.

They are also looking for non-profits to take advantage of community booth space.You can read their guidelines at the bottom of this page.

Well you can’t eat it, but Faerhaven has come out with a hot chocolate soap.

The soap will be available next week at local stores including Shopeco in Windsor, The Green Goose in Kingsville and Baubles by Blue in Harrow.
